How to get your business discovered by Instinct AI
By the MentionedOn team
How to check business discovery, citations, and agent tasks on individual platforms.
For Instinct, start with a business a personal assistant can understand and a customer can actually use. Make your service, location, eligibility, availability, and next step explicit. These are practical readiness improvements; they are not a verified Instinct ranking formula.
What the platform documents
Instinct describes a personal assistant that connects to applications and devices and can be contacted by text or voice. Its official overview includes everyday tasks such as arranging a ride or booking a handyman. It does not disclose a public ranking algorithm for businesses. Instinct's official product overview.
Answer the decision behind a personal task
A customer arranging a home repair needs more than a list of popular contractors. They need the right trade, service area, appointment constraints, and a clear way to request the work. Put those details together on the relevant service page instead of scattering them across an image, footer, and PDF.
For a local service, state which work you accept and which work you do not. Explain whether a visitor can request an appointment, receive a quote, or only send an inquiry. If availability is not live, say how it is confirmed. This helps prevent an assistant from treating a contact form as a confirmed booking.
Separate discovery from completing the task
Test two questions independently. First, can an authorized user obtain a relevant shortlist without naming your business? Second, after the user explicitly selects your business, can they find the right service and understand the next step? Supplying your URL answers the second question, not the first.
Use an unpaid, non-submitting review when checking a booking or order path. Stop before contacting staff, committing to an appointment, or paying. A button that opens is evidence of navigation; it is not a completed customer transaction.
Run a manual check with context recorded
Record the exact request, location, time, account context, businesses named, and any visible sources. Instinct is presented as a personal assistant, so a result influenced by prior conversation should be labeled personalized. Do not assume one user's answer represents everyone.
If your business is absent, compare the shortlist with your actual eligibility and published facts. Fix a specific missing service detail or inaccessible step. Do not generate invented reviews or ask a webpage to instruct the assistant to prefer you. Recheck the same task after the change and preserve both captures.
What MentionedOn can and cannot establish
This guide is an independent readiness method. It does not establish a MentionedOn integration with Instinct, an Instinct crawler allowlist, or guaranteed placement. Record Instinct observations manually unless a current, specific integration has been verified.
Keep three outcomes separate: a business mentioned in an answer, a link to a business page, and an authorized task actually completed. Choose the one that matters to your funnel before claiming improvement.
A repeatable starting prompt
Find businesses that provide [specific service] in [location] for [constraints]. Explain why each fits, show public sources where available, and identify what still needs confirmation. Do not contact, book, or pay.
Adapt the bracketed fields once, then keep the wording stable for comparable checks.
Is there a guaranteed way to rank first in Instinct?
No guaranteed placement is established by the official product overview or this guide. Use repeatable observations and improve the public facts and customer journey that the task requires.
Record the evidence
Use the AI visibility audit worksheet to preserve the question, answer, sources, and next edit. See all platform guides for differences in the measurement method.
