The people behind the scans
MentionedOn measures whether AI assistants recommend your business when your customers ask, and does the work to change the answer when they don’t. It is built and operated by Soxoa, an AI-automation company based in Folsom, California, founded by John Arndt.
Why this exists
Customers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity who to hire before they ever open Google. Those answers name specific local businesses, and most owners have no idea what AI says about them, or that the answers change constantly. We built the scan we wished existed: real questions, real assistant answers, receipts you can audit, and a plan grounded in the sources AI actually cites.
How we work
Everything on this site is computed from stored production data: the public leaderboards, the data reports, and every scorecard. Our methodologyis public, including its limits. We don’t promise rankings; AI answers aren’t ad slots. We work the inputs and show the trend, including when it hasn’t moved yet.
The Soxoa relationship
Soxoa is the parent company: it builds AI automation for small and mid-size businesses in Northern California and operates MentionedOn as a product. A Soxoa account works across both. That’s the “Continue with Soxoa” button at sign-in. Billing for MentionedOn plans appears from our shared Stripe account.
