What we check

Ten checks, each one something you can confirm on your own site. Pass counts fully, partial counts half, and anything we could not read is left out of the score.

  1. Phone number agents can dial. A tap-to-call (tel:) link, or a telephone number in your business markup. A number shown only as plain text counts as partial.

  2. Online booking an agent can finish. A link to a scheduling system we recognize, such as OpenTable, Calendly, Housecall Pro or Jobber, or a booking action in your markup. A book or request-a-quote page without one counts as partial.

  3. Email address agents can write to. A published email address, as a mailto link, in the page text or in your markup. A contact form on its own counts as partial.

  4. Takes text messages. An sms: link, or wording like "call or text". If your site does not say, we mark it not checked rather than guess.

  5. Opening hours. Opening hours in your business markup. Hours shown only as page text count as partial.

  6. Published prices. A price range or offers in your markup, or at least two prices on the pages we read.

  7. Business details in markup. schema.org LocalBusiness markup (Plumber, Dentist and so on) with your address or phone. Organization markup alone counts as partial.

  8. Agents allowed in robots.txt. Whether your robots.txt blocks the fetchers agents browse with on a person's behalf: meta-externalfetcher, meta-externalagent, ChatGPT-User, Google-Agent, Applebot.

  9. No bot wall in the way. Whether your site answers an automated visit without a browser-check challenge or a refusal, and whether your form uses a captcha.

  10. llms.txt summary. Whether you publish /llms.txt, a short plain-text summary of your business that an agent can read in one request.

Frequently asked questions

What is a personal AI agent?+

An assistant that acts for a person instead of only answering. Depending on the agent, it can browse the web, call, text, email or book. Meta Muse, Instinct, OpenAI Dots, Grok Bot, Google AI calling and Siri are examples. Asked to find a plumber for Thursday, an agent picks a business and then tries to reach it.

Does a good score mean agents will pick my business?+

No. This check only shows whether an agent could reach and book you once it has picked you. Which business an agent picks is up to the agent, and nothing here guarantees a recommendation, a call or a booking.

Which pages do you read?+

Your home page, one contact, about or location page linked from it, /robots.txt and /llms.txt. Results are cached for 24 hours per website, so a change you make today shows up when you check again after that. If we could not read your home page at all, nothing is cached and you can try again right away.

Do you call or text my business?+

No. We only read public pages, the way a browser would. We never call, text or email your business, and we do not fill in your forms.

Why do some checks say Not checked?+

When we cannot read something, such as a robots.txt that does not load, or a site that does not say whether its number takes texts, we mark it Not checked and leave it out of the score instead of guessing.

How is this different from the AI visibility scan?+

The free AI visibility scan shows whether assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini name your business when someone asks for a recommendation. This check shows whether an agent can reach you once they do. You need both: an agent cannot book a business it never picks, or one it cannot reach.
