A low leader share means AI assistants spread their recommendations across many businesses instead of repeatedly naming one favorite. We ranked the five most open categories in MentionedOn’s live corpus of 26,340 recorded answers across 840 city-and-category leaderboards.
Across 40 cities, the most-mentioned business captured only about 21% of category mentions on average. The remaining mentions were split among competitors, which makes this one of the least concentrated categories in the dataset.
